How it works

Basically, there’s an evening-before setup session, in which we all introduce ourselves and load the technology stack onto students’ computers. The workshop day we get an introduction to Ruby and some background on the history of women in computing, discuss our own backgrounds a bit and break into small groups based on experience level. Groups sit at tables with several TAs at each and progress together.

There’s a curriculum and slides here on the DevChix wiki.

We’ll provide coffee and tea in the morning, lunch at lunchtime and pizza & beer to celebrate our success at the end of the day. (woo-hoo!)
